Since the new versions of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 came into effect in September 2015, a turning point has been reached in the world of these management systems. This new version addresses the needs of companies in all sectors, as well as the challenges they face daily and to which they must adapt. All these new changes will benefit your company by making the implemented ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards an integral part of your strategic process.
The new changes imply that organizations must adopt a new approach to risk management, integrating other concepts related to Context Analysis, Product and/or Service Life Cycle, Stakeholders, and Knowledge Management, which many organizations have not yet considered in their updating process. As of 2018, certifications under the ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 schemes will no longer be valid, and audits of companies applying for the first time are already being conducted under the new ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 frameworks. Therefore, organizations must prepare now to meet these new challenges, which will allow them to improve their management systems and add value to their organizations.
