Originally, the company began as a wood and cork debarking and wood processing business, hence the company name. In 2012, it expanded into charcoal production, adding to its existing activities.
In the following years, CORCHOS OLIVA, SL. The company consolidated its position in the charcoal sector, making it its main activity and establishing itself as a regional and national leader. The charcoal line grew so significantly that, in 2019, the company decided to cease its cork and firewood operations, making charcoal packaging its sole and primary activity. That same year, the company committed to its own charcoal production, leading to the commissioning of a new plant in Fregenal de la Sierra, where sustainable pyrolytic kilns were installed for the production of BIOCARBOON. This represented a new challenge for the company and a milestone for the charcoal sector, not only in Extremadura but also nationally, since CORCHOS OLIVA, SL. is the first company in Spain with a sustainable, zero-emission charcoal manufacturing plant.
