The Badajoz Chamber of Commerce has launched a new call for applications for SME Innova Program 2026, an initiative aimed at improving the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises through the implementation of management systems and innovation projects.

The program is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and allows access to aid of up to 85% of the project cost, This represents a significant opportunity for companies that want to improve their management.

Which projects are eligible for the aid

Within this call for proposals, projects related to the following are considered eligible for funding: implementation of management systems and certifications, including:

• ISO 9001 (quality management).
• ISO 14001 (environmental management).
• ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety).
• ISO 27001 (information security).
• ISO 56001 (innovation management).

These types of projects allow companies to structure their processes, improve their internal organization and strengthen their market positioning.

Application deadline

The deadline for submitting applications is:

• From March 12, 2026.
• Until March 18, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.

WHAT IS AN ELECTRO-INTENSIVE CONSUMER?

To obtain the condition of energy-intensive consumer, The company's annual energy consumption must have been greater than 1 GWh during two of the three previous years and consumption during off-peak hours must be at least 50% of the total energy consumed.

WHO IS THIS GRANT FOR?

Private companies that own a supply point or facility, whatever their legal form, and that meet the following requirements:

1. Be validly constituted in accordance with the regulations in force at the time of submitting the application.
2. To be in possession of certificate of energy-intensive consumer.
3. Carry out in each of the facilities or supply points for which the subsidy is requested one or more activities in the sectors listed in Annex I of this order under the CNAE codes specified therein.
4. To prove having borne the charges in the prices of the electricity supply corresponding to the year 2022.

Furthermore, it is required have an Energy Management System that is audited and certified according to the standard ISO 50001:2018, having a deadline of up to two years to obtain it from the application for this aid.

ISO 50001:2018 AND ELECTRO-INTENSIVE INDUSTRY GRANTS

One of the requirements to apply for this aid is to have an energy management system, that is, to hold the ISO 50001:2018 certificate. This standard, ISO 50001:2018 "Energy Management System", aims to allow organizations to establish procedures for improving and increasing the efficiency of energy performance in their activities.

ACCESS TO CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

In said decree, in its article 16. Valuation Criteria, the company can obtain 5 more points in the final assessment if it is registered in the Register of socially responsible companies in Extremadura. Otherwise, 0 points would be awarded.

HOW TO BECOME A SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE COMPANY IN EXTREMADURA

Since 2010, there has been an active, dynamic and consultative tool in Extremadura whose objective is the implementation of responsible practices in social, environmental, economic and transparency matters.

It is a self-assessment in the matter of CSR (known as ORSE self-assessment), where the user has to comply with 5 different blocks in:

• Ethics and Values of the Company.
• Human Resources and Labor Relations.
• Environment.
• Company Social Relations.
• Responsible handling of information and communication.

Within these blocks, you will have to complete the different sections and indicators, which vary depending on the type of company you are (micro SME, SME or large company).

Once the online self-assessment questionnaire has been completed ORSE tool, The company receives a score. If this is above 250 points, with a minimum of 50 points on each of the 5 axes, You can choose to carry out the procedures to apply for the "Socially Responsible Company" qualification.

After completing the ORSE tool's online self-assessment questionnaire, the organization will receive a score. If this score exceeds 250 points, with a minimum of 50 points in each of the 5 areas, it can begin the process of applying for the "Socially Responsible Company" designation.
